The SPA at EVR in Beautiful BC

Envision, a lifestyle that embraces wellbeing of mind, body and spirit, one that incorporates wellness with a more balanced and natural way of living.

Envision a lifestyle that is more in keeping with the "old ways" in which people lived their lives, rather than the "new ways"; one that involves nuclear families, the environment, what we eat, the way we exercise and how we think.

At Echo Valley Ranch and Spa you can experience such a lifestyle. We have created spa packages suited to various preferences and experiences.

We base our Spa treatments on traditional Asian medicine and feature a traditional Baan Thai spa pavilion, designed by Thailand's most famous architect, Dr. Pinyo Suwenkiri, architect to the Thai Royal family; recognized as the world authority on traditional Thai architecture.

When you enter the Baan Thai pavilion, and the treatment rooms that are part of it, you will feel as if you have entered another world. You will sense the harmony created by the flowing lines of the building and its rooms; you will see teak Thai carvings, Thai silks and furnishings, you will enjoy beautiful aromas and soothing music, drink delicious herbal teas and experience a wonderful sense of wellbeing.

Then there are the authentic "Thai spa" treatments, all of which have their roots in Thai traditional medicine, passed down through the "ancient knowledge" of Thailand. The treatments include our signature Thai massage, Thai foot massage, Thai herbal steam treatments, the Luk Pra Kob (herbal bag) treatments, herbal oil treatments, Thai facials that use only the hands and special herbal creams that are beneficial to your skin (no machines are used for this or any other treatments - all treatments are natural). All of the authentic Thai spa treatments are provided by qualified Thai specialists from Thailand.

Yoga anybody? - nowadays the word "yoga" is used to describe many forms of exercise, with various attributed claims that may or may not have any resemblance to what was taught in ancient times. It seems that a "new" yoga comes out every month. In ancient times, hermits in Thailand practiced a form of exercise called "Ruesri Dat Ton". This method of exercise is virtually unknown in the west, and we at Echo Valley Ranch and Spa are delighted to be able to present it to our guests and to the world - in its authentic state, as it was thousands of years ago. For those that are interested, we have qualified teachers on staff at our ranch to teach the first 15 basic positions of Ruesri Dat Ton to our guests during their stay.

Meditation is widely practiced by some cultures as part of their every day lifestyle. There are many ways to meditate. The method that our guests will have the opportunity to learn and practice at Echo Valley Ranch and Spa is referred to as the "three step method". The three steps are, praying (this can be to any god and/or in keeping with any spiritual belief); walking (this involves taking several repeated steps back and forth while you concentrate on your steps); sitting (this involves breathing exercise and how to use/quiet your mind).

All of our staff at Echo Valley Ranch live at the ranch. We have a special little community which demonstrates that people from all over the world, with different cultures, religions, and beliefs can all live together in harmony with each other.

Our environment - our pure environment is 100% Canadian. At Echo Valley Ranch we are blessed with pure air to breathe, pure water to drink, from any one of our five natural springs and the sounds of nature, devoid of any human disturbance - when the air is still and nature is quiet you can feel silence, a simple yet incredible experience. You can see countless stars since there is no light pollution - and the surrounding scenery is awesome! It is alarming to realise that most of what has just been described is now very rare in our world today - let's hope that spa goers of the world will demand that the environment be restored to the way it was in the past and can be again in the future.

Our food - we have our own organic vegetable garden and many local suppliers who provide us with fresh farm produce. We have a herb garden. We have an abundance of berries, mushrooms and seasonal fruits. We raise our own organic beef, and other farm products are available nearby. We are looking at ways to increase the availability of organic foods and will offer our guests healthy food at all times.
